Senior Project Proposal

Proposed Topic in the form of an  Essential Question:
Is the show Teen Mom on MTV affect the mind of young teens into thinking of having children in a young age?

Rationale for Choice:
1.What about this topic appeals to you? Why did you choose it?
This topic appeals to me because of all the shows and news talking about teen pregnancy. So it gave me interest into writing about this topic. I believe showing this type of show on t.v is wrong for young teens because it gives them an idea of getting pregnant and being on t.v. So teens think that getting pregnant will get them famous. It also shows violence and abuse towards there spouses and family members which is wrong and can give them consequences. Teens probably think that getting pregnant will be fun but in the end they will finally realize that it was a mistake. I chose this topic because it gave me great interest in learning more about why teens get pregnant in a young age.
2.What do you already know about this subject?
What I already know about this topic is that each year teen pregnancy has been increasing.
3.What are you hoping to learn about the subject?
What I am hoping to learn about this topic is to personally talk to teen moms and get some feedback in why get pregnant this young. And also to learn more about how much there lives change after getting pregnant and how there relationship between theres haas changed.
4.What are you most interested in regarding the topic?
What I am interested in regarding this topic is just to learn how there lives and relationship with others have changed.

5.What potential risks or challenges do you foresee for your project?
My potential risk or challenges I foresee for my project is that if the teens will get offended when I ask them questions. It will be hard to find teen moms that would be comfortable to answer my questions.

I Believe..

1. I believe tv shows with drug use shows a bad example to teens.
2. I believe children shouldn't be around with parents that smoke.
3. I believe teens should always use protection when having sexual interactions with other teens.
4. I believe parents should not feed there children with junk food.
5.I believe too much t.v for children can cause problems in the future.

5. Children watching t.v with shows that aare meant for adults only show a horrible example and leads to problems in the future. T.v shows such as " Thats 70's Show" have alot of drug issues that people use. It shows a bad example and teaches them what the wrong thing to do. Kids shouldnt be around parents that smoke because one it is second hand smoking and can cause diffrent health problem for the child. Teens that are sexually active should always use protction and get checked for any diseases. Parents that feed there own children and stuff them with junk food such as Mcdonalds, Burger King, and KFC are horrible things to do because it cause diffremt health problems for example obesity, diabetes, and also even death.
